MB Chairman calls on Yemen’s rival parties to end fighting and to resume dialogue.

Mr. Mohamed Mahdi Akef, Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, called on the Yemeni people to unite and meet together for dialogue to overcome their problems in order to maintain Yemen's stability, unity and integrity.

In his statement to Ikhwanweb, he stated that "The Yemeni people are trapped in a cycle of long civil wars where the ongoing fighting in north Yemen is similar to the international plot to destabilize and colonize Sudan. This was also evident with the civil struggle in Lebanon.

Yemen’s stability and  preservation of national unity and territorial integrity must be  the top priority for all Yemenis whether they are of political opposition parties or from the government or even Houthis in Saada”, Akef continued.

He stressed that the Brotherhood promote the adopting of  a fair and clear attitude with the respect for borders of Saudi Arabia and clearly refuses any breach of security of Saudi Arabia's lands.

He also called for the Saudi King to apply his wisdom in dealing with the Yemenis.

Akef also underscored that serious and constructive dialogue is the only way to resolve any social, cultural and political dimensions of the south Yemeni crisis.

The Brotherhood’s Chairman called on the nation's scholars and thinkers to have an effective role aimed to end the tension between all rival parties and to halt the blood spilling between Muslims.

He also called on the Arab League to exert more effort and actively move for the exchange of viewpoints between the various parties since it is a necessary duty which must be adopted by the Organization of Islamic Conference.
