MB Deputy Chairman Slams Fierce Crackdown Against Muslim Brotherhood
Muslim Brotherhood Deputy Chairman Dr. Mohamed Habib condemned the continuous state security raids against Muslim Brotherhood activists across the country ahead of Ramadan and on the first day of the holy month.
Habib said that the government insists on the same attitude towards the Muslim Brotherhood , namely cracking down on is members and seeking to marginalize the role of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s political scene.
“The regime wants to send a message across: the holy month of Ramadan will not deter the security apparatus from following us, that is because Ramadan witnesses extraordinary Muslim Brotherhood activism on all levels, and that is what they want to prevent,” Habib said in a statement to Ikhwanweb.
Habib also slammed the crackdown on bookshops owned by Muslim Brotherhood members ahead of Ramadan, saying the regime seeks both to hinder any cultural activity by the Muslim Brotherhood and to freeze any source for Muslim Brotherhood capital.
