Mursi accuses the Government of unjustly Kidnapping Innocent Citizens

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, MB senior executive bureau member Muhammad Mursi affirmed that parliamentarians are currently contacting government representatives to uncover the unknown destiny of yesterday’s detainees.

He called for an immediate government explanation for the situation, and held the interior ministry responsible for kidnapping more than a thousand civilian in one day and throwing them away in secret custody and vague conditions. He did not rule out the possibility of torturing them or denying them food and medical care, and called on NGOs and rights groups to interfere.

Moreover, he told Ikhwanweb that MPs will submit an official request to the government to elaborate what happened. They will ask for instant answers by the Interior Ministry to questions related to the exact number of kidnapped citizens, who they are, where they are at the moment, their humanitarian conditions, and whether they face any real accusations.

However, he emphasized that all national efforts are concentrated in helping the besieged Gaza and delivering aid through our relief convoys as soon as possible. “We should not allow the Israeli occupation forces to blackmail our Gazan neighbors,” he said, “and such government escalation will not prevent us from resuming our humanitarian mission.”
