Muslim Brotherhood Calls for Action to Prevent Attack on Sanctities and calls for learning about the Holy Quran
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) stresses that the recurrent burning of the Holy Quran is a flagrant attack on the feelings of over a billion Muslims, calling for international action to stop such practices.
The MB also calls for legal criminalization of those who attack sanctities whoever may be, and for activation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, especially the articles related to respect for religions and non-discrimination on the basis of race, color or religion.
The Brotherhood calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities with respect to rejection of hatred, discrimination, incitement and violence; and it confirms that rebuffing extremism, fanaticism and incitement to hatred is a collective responsibility that everyone must abide by.
The MB also calls on Muslims across the world to peacefully express their rage at violation of their sanctities, and to prosecute those who attack them by every legal and peaceful means. It also calls on Muslims to further read and learn the Holy Quran, especially during the holy month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed.
The Muslim Brotherhood also calls on non-Muslims to attempt to learn about the Holy Quran, the heavenly message to all mankind.
Also, the MB calls on Muslim rulers to intervene diplomatically to tackle this issue, and communicate with Western rulers to put an end to these provocations, protect the rights and feelings of Muslims in the East and West, emphasizing that fueling feelings of hatred threatens community peace and security among citizens of the same homeland.
