A message to the leaders participating in the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah

Praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God

The meeting of the Arab League Council these days comes on a painful memory that left a great impact on the soul of every Arab and Muslim, which is the memory of the Nakba in the beloved land of Palestine. And since the Arab and Islamic region is witnessing today tireless and continuous attempts aimed at continuing hegemony and control over the wealth and capabilities of the region, we are keen to clarify our position before everyone, rulers and ruled, we affirm - very clearly - at the beginning of our letter the following:

First: The Muslim Brotherhood rejects all forms of foreign domination and condemns all forms of foreign interference in the affairs of the countries of the Arab and Islamic region.

Second: Comprehensive reform is a patriotic, national, and Islamic demand, and it is the people who are primarily concerned with taking the initiative to achieve reform, which aims to achieve their hopes for a free and dignified life, a comprehensive renaissance, freedom, justice, equality and Shura.

The Muslim Brotherhood believes that the duty now requires all national leaders, regional governments, political forces, intellectual and cultural elites, and all those interested in public affairs, to rally around a broad framework that stems from the basic foundations of our societies, and to Cooperate in what is agreed upon - which is a lot - and to debate about the difference in it - which is a little - for the common good of this nation.

Proceeding from the conviction of the Muslim Brotherhood that working for the interest of the nation is a religion and a duty, they also affirmed the following:

We believe that self-review is the duty of every group and faction, that it is the right of the nation in general, and it is the starting point for any correction. Therefore, we call on all the active forces in the nation to review the course of the past stage with all impartiality and transparency.

The Muslim Brotherhood affirms its strong concern for states and their institutions, which belong to the people alone.

Honorable kings, princes and presidents, leaders of Arab countries

The group views the unity of the Arab and Islamic nation as an obligation and necessity, which everyone must strive to achieve by working to purify the atmosphere between the Arab and Islamic countries, put an end to border disputes and resort to fraternal solutions, away from responding to hostile maneuvers aimed at tearing the nation apart. In this context:

We look forward to an active Arab role in bringing about peace in Sudan, Libya and Yemen, as well as ending the tension between brothers in Algeria and Morocco.

Seeking to put an end to the internal conflict between some Arab regimes and national and Islamic movements, from which only the enemies of the nation benefit. And work to ensure the freedom of national and Islamic action as a legitimate right and a guarantee of stability, and supportive of the nation's steadfastness in facing challenges and dangers.

We reserve the right to normalize relations with the Syrian regime after all that it has inflicted on its people in terms of killing, imprisoning and displacing millions, and opening the door to many powers wreaking havoc and injustice in Syria.

Ethnic, regional and sectarian calls aimed at fragmenting the nation and sowing hatred among them must also be addressed.

Honorable kings, princes and presidents, leaders of Arab countries

Jerusalem and Palestine have a sacred place in the heart of every Arab and Muslim, and in this painful memory that we are going through these days, the group calls for action to fulfill the aspirations and hopes of peoples in:

Rejection of all proposed solutions aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and stripping the Palestinian people of their historical rights.

Work to achieve and confirm its national unity.

Confronting the policies of normalization with the Zionist enemy.

Our group's position will remain clear in rejecting normalization at all levels, and we will work hard - by all possible means - to resist all its forms, based on our concern for the interest of the nation, and our rejection of any negligence in the rights of its people.

Finally, we support every Arab action that achieves pride and dignity for our nation, and we have been and are still ready to sacrifice what is precious for its renaissance, and we are a faction of its sons, loyal to its rights, and partners in its present and future.

Dr. Salah Abdel Haq

Acting General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood
