In the wake of the Rafah massacre, we call on Egypt and UN Security Council to swiftly intervene

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the heinous massacre committed by the occupation army against the displaced Palestinians in the shelter areas that it had previously designated as “safe zones” for civilians – a crime that claimed the lives of dozens of martyrs and wounded women and children.

The massacre that took place last night confirms that the occupation leaders continue to commit genocide and crimes against humanity and practice the utmost brutality to cover up the field failure, and in attempt to show rebellion against international law and justice – which requires calling for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to put into force the decision of the International Court of Justice, obliging the Zionist entity to immediately halt the military offensive (in Rafah).

The MB calls on the rulers of Muslim countries, particularly Egypt, to positively intervening to stop the occupation’s arrogance, forcing it to immediately withdraw from the Rafah crossing and the Saladin Axis, also known as Philadelphi Corridor, restoring Egyptian-Palestinian sovereignty over the Rafah crossing, and acting to facilitate the medical treatment of the wounded – after the health sector in Gaza had gone out of service – and providing urgent relief to the Palestinian sector.
