The Dawa and Jihad Knight ‘Dr Al-Fatih Hassanein’ Has Dismounted

Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration. ﴿  (Al-Ahzab: 23).

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) mourns Dr Al-Fatih Ali Hassanein, who has passed away after a long history of action and major contributions in the service of Islam and its causes and dissemination of Islam in Eastern Europe.

The late deceased founded several Islamic and relief organizations in Eastern Europe and contributed to the establishment of a number of political parties in Bosnia and Bulgaria. He was an advisor to Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic, where he participated in supporting the liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the establishment of the state there.

In addition, he established several student and youth associations and unions, and cultural and media centres, all of which worked to serve Islam in Eastern European countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, and Moldova.

His influence also reached the Turkish Justice and Development Party, as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited him in gratitude (for his efforts) and in recognition of his merit.

The late deceased ‘Dr Hassanein’ authored several books and publications. He contributed to dissemination of Islamic thought and translation of the Holy Quran into Eastern European languages. He - may Allah have mercy on him - joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1959.

As the MB mourns Dr Al-Fatih Hassanein, it prays to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy and forgiveness upon him and to join him with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous.

The Brotherhood also extends all condolences to his family, brothers and loved ones in Sudan, Eastern European countries and the entire Islamic world.

… but give good tidings to the patient. Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the (rightly) guided. ﴿  (Al-Baqarah: 155-157).
