Banning UNRWA Prompts Reconsideration of the ‘UN Partition Plan for Palestine’ That Paved the Way for Its Foundation

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) reiterates condemnation of the continued Arab and international silence towards the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip.

The MB believes that all the positions that have been adopted or the statements that have been issued so far are still insufficient; unless this brutal occupation is forced to cease fire and pave the way for providing the necessary humanitarian relief.

This condemnation comes after the Israeli enemy committed a new massacre against civilian residential areas in Beit Lahia, which claimed the lives of over a hundred martyrs.

It also comes after the arrest and disappearance of about 600 people, the tightening of the deadly siege on the northern Gaza Strip, the prevention of food and medicine, and the killing and arrest of doctors and civil defense personnel. These crimes highlight the continuation of the genocide practiced by the Zionist forces against the people of the Gaza Strip.

With respect to the Israeli Knesset’s bill to bar the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from carrying out its duties inside occupied Palestine, the Brotherhood believes that preventing the UN relief agency from undertaking the mission for which it was established by a United Nations resolution (on 8 December) 1949 requires the United Nations and the international community to reconsider the unjust Partition Plan for Palestine that paved the way for the establishment of UNRWA after granting the Zionist gangs the right to seize Palestinian lands.

The Muslim Brotherhood believes that this decision by the Knesset, along with the genocidal war being committed by the occupation in Gaza, proves that we are in front of a rogue entity, under international law, that must be effectively faced, with the need to work to impose sanctions on the Israeli entity and isolate it due to its continued violation of international laws, norms, covenants and human rights.
