MB Statement on the Recent Developments in Syria

With regard to the re-eruption of military operations once again in Syria, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) confirms its firm principled position of absolute support for the peoples’ right to freedom and independence, as well as rejection of all forms of coercion in governance and usurpation of power and wealth, whether by a foreign occupier or a local tyrant. 

The MB also affirms that all countries and governments should respect the aspirations of peoples and their quest to achieve their freedom and legitimate rights.

At a time when the Syrian arena has become a confrontation arena for several external parties, the MB emphasizes that the interests of the parties to the conflict will never be achieved under continuation of the war; that the sovereignty of the Syrian people over their unified land is the basis for any solution; that siding with and empowering the Syrian people and stopping the bloodshed is the only guarantee for the achievement of stability, justice and freedom, within the framework of preservation of  the just interests of the parties.

Therefore, the Brotherhood stresses the significance of working with the Syrian people for the achievement of their freedom and independence, as well as achievement of stability in the region.

May Allah Almighty protect Syria as a free, independent and unified homeland, and preserve its people.
