About The Recent Arrests In Jordan
Praise be to Allah; and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his kinsfolk, companions, and followers:
While the Zionist enemy continues to commit brutal massacres against our people in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, with widespread support from international and regional powers, the attitudes of the Arab and Islamic peoples, particularly the brotherly Jordanian people, stand out in support of Palestine and its valiant resistance, in a bright image that expresses the nation’s living conscience.
However, we would like to stress the following, in response to the Jordanian authorities’ announcement of the arrest of a number of citizens in support of the resistance:
- Providing support for the Palestinian resistance is a religious duty as well as an honor for every Muslim, based on fatwas reiterated by scholars of the nation.
2. Such duty must not be criminalized or confiscated, as resistance against the occupation is an inherent right required by divine laws, recognized by international law, and remains consistent with Arab chivalry and sound human nature.
3. We stress that the Muslim Brotherhood's position on patriotism and preservation of homelands is evident and unwavering and cannot be challenged. However, confusion between provision of support for the resistance and pursuit of sabotage is attempt to mislead the public opinion and distort the sincere popular stance in support of Palestine.
3. We affirm that the charge of “terrorism” no longer works on the public opinion due to its recurrent and unjustified misuse. In this regard, we condemn the arrest of any activist, regardless of their country of origin, for standing with Palestine. We also demand the immediate release of all those who have expressed their legitimate position in support of Gaza and in defense of the oppressed.
4. We call on Arab governments to take sides with the will of their people, who have clearly expressed their allegiance to the Palestinian cause, the nation’s cause, instead of confronting or restricting it. We remind them that the failure of the official Arab position to support Gaza in action, not words, and the absence of the role of armies in curbing the aggression, creates a dangerous vacuum in the Arab security system, at a time when the enemy receives official support from individuals, institutions, countries, and governments, without any of them being accused of terrorism.
5. We, the Muslim Brotherhood, hail with pride and appreciation all those who participate in the resistance everywhere, particularly the countries surrounding the occupied territories. We remind you that whoever criminalizes support for Gaza today is contributing – by silence or stance – to enabling the enemy to continue its crimes against innocents.
May Allah Almighty protect Jordan and the Jordanian people. Long live the Islamic Resistance; long live the nation’s conscience, and may its young people remain strong.
We pray to Allah Almighty to grant victory for the resistance soon and to make the feet hold of those who remain steadfast (in defense of ttheir territories and sanctities) firm.
Allah is the Greatest and to Allah all praises belong.
