MB participates in Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Annual Convention
A high-level delegation from the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) participated in the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP)’s annual Grand Convention, known as “Ijtima-e-Aam”, in Lahore, Pakistan.
The conference, held from 21 to 23 November, witnessed a large turnout, where the number of attendees was estimated at hundreds of thousands, with the participation of government and parliamentary officials from several countries, leaders of Islamic movements and organizations from over 42 countries, as well as the heads of a number of international institutions.
On behalf of Dr. Salah Abdel Haq, the acting Muslim Brotherhood General Guide, , Dr. Muhyiddin Al-Zayt, member of the MB Supreme Administrative Authority, represented the MB, at the head of the delegation, which included:
Dr. Helmy al-Gazzar, member of the MB Supreme Administrative Authority,
Mr. Mahmoud al-Ibiary, member of the MB Supreme Administrative Authority,
Mr. Sohaib Abdel Maqsoud, the MB Supreme Administrative Authority member and Media Spokesperson.
The conference was held in the vicinity of the historic Lahore minaret, known as Minar-e-Pakistan, a public monument tower located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, which is considered one of the country's most prominent national landmarks, as it was erected to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which was a pivotal step in the establishment of the state of Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On the sidelines of the JIP Grand Convention, a meeting of several leaders was held under the title: “Quest for a Just Global Order". The meeting tackled coordination of joint action and struggle against global injustice, in light of the poor role played by international institutions in maintaining peace and security and establishing justice. The conference also addressed several issues concerning the Islamic world, most notably the Palestinian cause and the rebellion in Sudan.
