MB: Comforting and Supporting People of the Truth on the Anniversary of Isra and Mi'raj
In the name of Allah; Praise be to Allah; and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him), all his kinsfolk, companions, and followers till the Day of Judgment.
Now to the topic:
The memory of Isra and Mi'raj comes to us every year with its lessons brimming with wisdom and timelessness, so that no time is devoid of it, and no human being can do without it. In our present times, we are in dire need of reflecting upon them and benefiting from them. It is as if the noble verses that were revealed in it are being revealed to us today, taking the bewildered hands, guiding the lost souls, and strengthening the people of truth and perseverance.
Perhaps the first and foremost lesson in our context is the lesson of consolation that callers to Allah need in every era, as the earth had become too narrow for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was delivering the message of justice and light.. “Guiding whom Allah wills from worshipping other people (or false deities) to worshipping Allah alone; and from the oppression and injustice of false religions to the justice and fairness of Islam; and from the hardship and confinement of worldly life to the spaciousness, peace, and prosperity of worldly life and the Hereafter.” So, he had then left his homeland for Taif, but its people harmed him and threw stones at him, even though he was proud and self-assured, with modest qualities. He then could not return to Makkah except under the protection of a man from among the polytheists, so he cried out to Allah in complaint: "O Lord! To You I complain of my weakness, lack of means, and my humility among the people. My Gracious Merciful Lord! You are the Lord of the weak people, and You are my Lord: whom do you entrust me to?” The heavens then trembled at his supplications, and when the angel of the mountains descended, threatening the polytheists, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) refused to order him to destroy them, saying, "No but I hope that Allah will let them beget children who will worship Allah Alone, and will worship None besides Him." Herein lay the greatest reward: that Allah chose him, raising him to a noble station, one that neither a close angel nor a sent prophet had attained. Allah bestowed upon him the blessing of prayer to be an ascension for every Muslim (to heaven), so that he may find Allah in devotion whenever he wishes, for the doors of the Generous One are never closed. On the path of the Ascension, there was the Night Journey to Jerusalem, for the paths to heaven pass through mosques, and Al-Aqsa is the first Qibla for Muslims. And around it was the abode of the prophets for a period of time. There the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer, and thus he and his nation inherited the legacy of monotheism: conveying the message, guiding people, and striving to fulfil it. Allah has blessed the surroundings of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. And He has also blessed Palestine - that holy land - for all the worlds; as Allah Almighty said about Abraham, peace be upon him, ﴾ And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds.﴿ (Al-Anbiya: 71).
After all that, will those who call to Allah fall in despair? It is certain that their distress will soon be relieved; their retreat will turn into counterattack; and their defeat will soon turn into victory and empowerment. Their most potent weapon is true faith and sincere reliance on Allah, as Allah Almighty said in Surah Al-Isra: ﴾ And We gave Moses the Scripture and made it a guidance for the Children of Israel that you not take other than Me as Disposer of affairs.﴿ (Al-Isra: 2).
Allah Almighty speaks at length in Surah Al-Isra about the children of Israel and their corruption on earth; therefore, hostility towards them is not based on racism, but rather to ward off their corruption and repel their crimes and aggression: ﴾ And We conveyed to the Children of Israel in the Scripture that, "You will surely cause corruption on the earth twice, and you will surely reach [a degree of] great haughtiness. ﴿ (Al-Isra: 4). In fact, they are only a creation of Allah’s creation: ﴾… Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created…﴿ (Al-Maidah: 18). When Allah commands fighting against the oppressors, it is so that the land may be saved from their evil. When Allah commanded the oppressed to defend themselves, He was commanding pure good for the peace of the earth and the world, as Allah Almighty said: ﴾… And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of bounty to the worlds. ﴿ (Al-Baqarah: 251)
Hence, liberating the Isra place of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a requirement of divine justice; it is also a requirement of international law, which stipulated that those whose land had been occupied have the right to liberate it, and obligated supporting them; where the weakest form of doing this is to ensure that the liberation of their land is not described as aggression, that their weapons are not equated with those of their enemy, and that their support is not described as terrorism and aggression.
It is time for our world to wake up; as we see the beginnings of this in those crowds of people who spontaneously came out, rejecting the aggression and injustice to which the people of Gaza in particular, and Palestine as a whole, are subjected. In this context, we condemn the attempt by the United States -supported by global Zionism- to criminalize supporting the oppressed among our people, and to place them on global terrorism lists. We affirm that these attempts – should they succeed – will plunge the world into an abyss of moral decay; and will end in utter failure, because the awakened global conscience will not return to its slumber; and because Allah Almighty, in whom we devotedly place our trust, has decreed in His Holy Quran that the ultimate victory belongs to the righteous:﴾ … Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.".﴿ (Al-Araf: 128)
And our final supplication will be, "Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds!"
