MB: We condemn the crime of assassinating Palestinian journalists accompanying the Egyptian Relief Committee

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns in the strongest terms the “Israeli” occupation’s assassination of three Palestinian journalists while they were performing their professional and humanitarian duty with the Egyptian Relief Committee in southern Gaza City – which represents a new attack added to the record of attacks on Egypt and its dignity, and a new violation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The MB stresses that the occupation is overstepping its bounds with regard to Egypt because it has become immune from punishment after repeated attacks.

The Brotherhood also asserts that targeting journalists, while they are performing a civilian task of field documentation of relief activity and while wearing press uniforms, constitutes a war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which regulates the treatment of civilians in times of war.

This crime is also a continuation of the “Israeli” occupation's crimes against journalists to conceal the truth.

While we stress that the policy of impunity continues to embolden the “Israeli” occupation in its aggression, we also affirm that the sponsors and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement bear the responsibility for remaining silent regarding the repeated violations of the agreement.

Therefore, we call on everyone to take responsibility for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and confrontation of the brutal “Israeli” occupation.

We also demand that the Egyptian regime take a stand against the repeated Israeli crimes against Egypt, the dignity of its people, and its national security.
