Hamas: Israeli decision to close crossings is violation of international law

The Hamas Movement strongly denounced the Israeli decision to close all crossings with Gaza and called on the international community and the Arab leaders to intervene to stop this serious escalation, considering it a violation of international laws.

In a press release, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, confirmed that the Israeli arrogance will never break the will of the Palestinians, expressing his belief that the official Arab silence on the Israeli crimes, which escalated into starvation, is no longer justifiable and there must be at least a move toward opening the Rafah crossing.

Dr. Abu Zuhri pointed out that although the decision of closing the Rafah crossing is taken by both Israel and America, but the Arab world can do its utmost to get the crossing reopened.

The spokesman considered that the statements by Israeli premier Ehud Olmert that his troops are waging a war in Gaza is a confession of the beginning of a large-scale war against the Palestinians in general and the Gaza people in particular.

The spokesman said that the Arabs need to reassess their positions in light of the programmed Israeli escalation and open war against the Palestinians under the protection of America, announcing that Hamas, in view of this open war, has no other choice but to defend the Palestinian people by all possible means.
