The Flawed International Order Legitimizes the Attack on Yemen and Palestine

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) denounces the American-British aggression on the brotherly people of Yemen, which took place in the early hours of this morning; and the group considers it an extension of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip and Palestine.

The United States and Britain have used the support for the besieged Palestinian sector as a pretext for the assault on Yemen, with the aim of providing protection for the Zionist entity’s supply ships, which accounts for a sinful war cover for genocide and the mass imprisonment of over two million people in the Gaza Strip.

This aggression once again reveals the defects of the international order, as the Security Council, which is basically entrusted with maintaining international peace and security, has passed a resolution that justifies the aggression against Yemen. Ironically, the same council had thwarted a resolution to stop the Zionist entity’s aggression on the Gaza Strip for humanitarian reasons!

This means that the Security Council has become a tool for fuelling wars, instead of seeking to stop them, which would destroy the values on which this council was founded. This aggression also reveals the collapse of the moral and value system that the United States draws about itself.

As such, the Brotherhood calls on the United Nations member states to demand holding a session to review the Security Council system; especially the five permanent members’ veto power, which has prevented the international community from stopping the aggression on Gaza.

The group also calls on the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation to play their due role and bear their responsibilities towards what is going on, and not to rest until the war on Gaza ends, as the peoples are still the hope for supporting the causes of freedom and national liberation.
