MB appreciates Bangladeshi students’ movement for change

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) expresses its support and backing for the uprising of the Bangladeshi people against the regime’s tyranny and authoritarianism. The MB also hails the students’ and youth’s movement towards change and pursuit of raising people’s awareness regarding their rights.

The Brotherhood’s support for the Bangladeshi popular movement comes within the framework of its general support for the right of peoples to freedom on their homelands and resistance against all forms of tyranny, as well as the peoples’ right to selection of their rulers democratically, without any kind of guardianship from anyone, and in a way that could establish justice among the children of the one people in sharing the political and economic resources of their country.

The MB believes that stability in any country relies on achievement of social justice and the transfer of power based on the Constitution and laws that are freely embraced by the people.

In this context, the Brotherhood calls on the state institutions in Bangladesh to side with the people and work to respect their will, so that a democratic regime can be established, to take over power in the country.

The Muslim Brotherhood also calls on the people’s masses and the living forces to be vigilant, united, cohesive and reject violence, to achieve a smooth transfer of power and bringing the country to a state of security, justice and stability. May Allah Almighty protect Bangladesh and its people.
