MB: We appreciate UN resolution that demands ending “Israeli” occupation

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) appreciates the resolution issued by the UN General Assembly demanding that Israel “brings to an end without delay its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory”, particularly those seized over the last twelve months.

The MB considers this resolution a political and legal gain achieved for the Palestinian people, considering the ongoing Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, and a step towards boosting recognition of Palestinian rights and the public opinion supporting the cause.

The UN General Assembly resolution emphasizes the rising bias of the international will towards the State of Palestine; where more than two-thirds of the members of the United Nations General Assembly voted in favour of the resolution, in a new indication of international consensus on putting an end to the “Israeli” occupation (of the Palestinian territories) and stopping its practices and crimes there. In fact, this consensus was forged after the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, that war that has appalled the entire world.

The Brotherhood calls on Arab and Muslim countries to take immediate bold procedures that would consolidate the resolution, punish the Israeli occupation and work to isolate it, and stop all forms of normalization with it, in effort to pressure it to stop the war, and tackle the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
