MB: Closing Al Jazeera Bureau always branded the Israeli narrative as a lie

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the Israeli occupation’s order to close the bureau of the Qatari Al Jazeera TV in the West Bank’s city of Ramallah today and confiscate all equipment, cameras and documents.

The Brotherhood views this decision by the occupation as confirmation of the Israeli approach to targeting journalists and media institutions, which has been demonstrated by the largest organized killing of journalists and correspondents, in addition to destruction of dozens of media institutions during the “Israeli” war on Gaza. This approach also proves to the world that the “Israeli” narrative about the war is a one-sided narrative from one party to the conflict and does not represent the undisputed truth.

The MB stresses that Al Jazeera TV, which has been distinguished throughout its history by covering conflicts, disputes and revolutions, has played a major role in revealing the truth of what is taking place in Palestine to the world; and that it has offered precious sacrifices to carry out this duty.

At the political level, the Brotherhood considers this decision an escalation and a form of arrogance towards a partner state in managing the negotiations (between the resistance forces and the occupation), and a negative indicator that sidelines the voice of reason and the language of dialogue regarding the war.

The Muslim Brotherhood holds the United States and the countries sponsoring the occupation responsible for the escalation of "Israeli" terrorism. The government also calls on international organizations and the international community to assume their responsibility towards the escalation against any journalistic activity that contributes to revealing the truth to the world, and conveying the suffering of our people in Palestine, who are remaining under bombardment; as well as exposing crimes against humanity (committed there) and documentation of their related evidence, such as those referred to in the decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) with respect to the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
