Ceasefire in Lebanon: Why Have Islamic Countries Failed to Push for a Just Peace in Gaza or Provide Full Support for the Resistance?!

The ceasefire agreement between the Israeli entity and Lebanon under American sponsorship comes as a continuation of the unlimited U. S. support for the Israeli occupation, and a manifestation of the American policy of neutralization of the fronts that the U. S. administration has been practicing since the early day of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa – in pursuit of isolating the Palestinian resistance away from potential supporters and besieging it in all forms of blockade, at a time when the United States provides full military, political and economic support to the Israeli occupation forces in their war on the Gaza Strip.

The United States’ opposition to the resolutions by the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly calling for a ceasefire in Gaza Strip highlights that the ceasefire in Lebanon is not out of a desire to achieve peace, but rather a part of a war plan, as it aims to consolidate the power of the Israeli enemy in the war on Gaza. This emphasizes the reality of the American role as a full partner of the Israeli enemy in the genocidal war and crimes against humanity that the latter commits against two million people in the Gaza Strip.

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) calls on all countries, governments, the international community and its organizations to act seriously for halting the fighting in the Gaza Strip and activate the ceasefire resolutions issued by the Security Council and the United Nations, and to address the humanitarian tragedies in Gaza and the effects left there by the brutal Israeli aggression over more than a year.

The MB appeals to the influential Arab and Islamic countries to use their pressure cards - and they can do a lot - to reach a just peace on the land of Palestine or to provide full support to the resistance there, exactly as the United States does in defending the Israeli entity. In fact, the Arab and Islamic role for the liberation of Palestine is a (religious) obligation under Islamic Shari’a (law) and a (legal) right towards a just cause under the international law.

The complete liberation of Palestine is just a matter of time, and the winner is the one who realizes his role and performs his duty. But failure to support our (Palestinian) brothers under this painful situation is something that Allah Almighty does not approve of; history will not forgive it; and free peoples will never forget it.

We call on the peoples to play their role and perform their duty, and on all individuals, groups, parties, unions, parliaments and governments to express their anger, condemn the aggression, and pressure their rulers to take practical steps that would stop the massacres and forced displacement against the people of the Palestinian Strip.

We also call on all the free people of the world to restore the popular movement and mobilization, denouncing the crimes against humanity and demanding the lifting of the blockade imposed on Gaza and imposition of a ceasefire at this critical stage of the Palestinian cause.
