With International Participation, MB Holds a Condolence Gathering for Mr. Youssef Nada
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) on Wednesday, 25 December 2024, held a condolence gathering in Istanbul, Turkey, to mourn Eng. Youssef Nada, the group’s former Commissioner for International Relations, who passed away on 22 December 2024 in Lugano, Switzerland, at the age of 93.
Condolences were received by His Eminence Dr. Salah Abdel Haq, the acting MB General Guide, and several members of the group’s Supreme Administrative Body.
The condolence gathering witnessed a remarkable presence of several prominent figures from various Arab and Islamic countries, including scholars and political figures.
Condolences were also extended by phone calls by: Mr. Khaled Meshaal, the current leader of the diaspora office of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas; Dr. Ali Al Qaradaghi , president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.
Several attendees delivered speeches highlighting the prominent role played by Mr. Youssef Nada in Islamic and international action, praising his long journey in consolidating the Brotherhood’s international relations and his dedicated service to Islamic issues over decades.
Members of the MB Supreme Administrative Body who also received condolences, included: Dr. Helmy al-Gazzar, Dr. Mohieddine Al-Zayet, Mr. Sohaib Abdel Maqsoud, and others. Also, several Islamic world prominent figures participated in receiving condolences, including: Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hasan bin Al-Deddew Al-Shanqiti, the vice-president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars; Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar, President of the "Parliamentarians for Jerusalem" association; Mr. Mohammad Nazzal, member of the Hamas Political Bureau; Mr. Muhammad Sawalha, former president of the Muslim Association of Britain; Mr. Yilmaz Balcan, representative of the Islamic movement in Turkey; and Mr. Nawaf Al Dakroury, the president of the Palestine Scholars Association in diaspora.
The eulogies addressed Mr. Youssef Nada’s strategic vision; his great contributions in building communication bridges between the Muslim Brotherhood and international communities; his prominent role in mediating between many countries, especially during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, his mediation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Yemen, and between KSA and Iran (following the Iranian pilgrims crisis), his effort to resolve the crisis between the Algerian government and the Islamic Salvation Front, and his role in resolving the American hostage crisis in Iran.
The condolence gathering concluded with the performance of the funeral prayer in absentia and praying to Allah to bestow His mercy upon the deceased. May Allah Almighty have mercy on Mr. Youssef Nada and grant him the Garden of Eternal Bliss and place him in Paradise with the exalted ones.
