Arab summit decisions require will and should highlight the need to support the resistance, not bargain with it

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) followed the final statement issued by the emergency Arab summit on Palestine, viewing it as a positive step towards consolidation of the Arab position rejecting the displacement of Palestinians and liquidation of the Palestinian cause. However, these resolutions require availability of Arab will to put them into force so that they would not follow previously made decisions.

The MB stresses that it is significant that the resolutions related to relief and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip come within a framework of respect for Palestinian sovereignty, and not targeting the resistance and its weapons, being a safety valve and a strong card in confrontation of the occupation; while at the same time not compromising the Palestinian people on their security, and considering the security file a purely Palestinian responsibility, as stated in the statement.

The Brotherhood also confirms that it supports any measure that would put the Palestinian house in order within the framework of respecting the will and aspirations of the Palestinian people themselves and should not be dictated from outside the Palestinian national conscience. The MB supports the call to launch a serious political path on the Palestinian cause that guarantees the full rights of the Palestinian people, provided that agreements or initiatives would not be used as a way to impose solutions that may conflict with the Palestinian will or perpetuate situations that may lead to undermining the sovereignty of the Palestinian people.

In view of the tragic conditions in the Palestinian Strip, the MB stresses the significance of accelerating the activation of practical decisions and initiatives related to the reconstruction conference, the establishment of the donors' fund, and the Gaza Orphan Support Fund initiative, where there are over 40,000 orphaned children left behind by the war. It is also necessary to pressure the occupation to prompt it to immediately allow in aid, carry out the second and third stages of the ceasefire agreement, and fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip and the Philadelphi Corridor, as stated in the summit statement.

To conclude, the Muslim Brotherhood stresses the significance of the official and popular Arab role, being a supporter of the Palestinian cause, not only as the cause of the Palestinian people, but as the cause of the Arab and Islamic nation, taking into mind that supporting it is a religious duty as an occupied Islamic land that embraces the people of Arḍ al-Ribat (Land of the Ribat) and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two Qiblas and the third of the two Holy Mosques – in addition to being a national duty imposed by the security equations in the region.

May Allah Almighty protect Palestine and its people and protect the Islamic nation and unite its ranks.
