A Special Message from Dr. Salah Abdel Haq to Detainees in Egypt

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon Allah’s Messenger Mohamad, all his kinsfolk, companions, and followers:

To our loved ones the present absentees: the captives, being imprisoned; but the free ones, having free spirits;

To the Joseph-likes (detainees), the unknown on Earth, the well-known in heavens;

To the dear ones who have devoted their lives for the sake of Allah, the high-spirited people whose souls were refined by the trials that Allah afflicted them with;

To the likes of Al-Walid ibn al-Walid, Salamah ibn Hisham, and Ayyash ibn Abi Rabia; the purest generation that faces the harshest ordeal;

To you, our brothers, where you are in the caves of your ordeal, your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy and will prepare for you from your affair facility:

To you all, I’d like to extend my congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha; and may you stay well for many years to come.

May the next year come with your chains broken, the injustice done to you ended, and with your jailer in a state of ruin, regret, and loss. By Allah, his situation has not been settled, his action has been in vain, and his hope has not been fulfilled since his hand extended to you with evil and targeted you with aggression – as if Allah Almighty has spared you the trouble of taking revenge while you are on your beds, and in the grip of your grievances.

May a day after a day comes with your ordeal getting less, and the oppression of your tyrant persistently reducing; as the reduction of the former is only due to the end of the latter.

May you be closer to Allah and His relief day after day, and may you be more persistent in obeying Him.

May Allah accept the worship on the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah from us and from you, and soon bring grant you reward and recovery (from affliction) together.

May He Almighty hasten salvation for you, just as He hastened salvation for Abraham and his son, when the knife was closer to the veins, and slaughter was closer to fulfillment. But Allah’s mercy was closer than the knife, and His relief was faster than Ibrahim could have imagined, when the announcer called out: ﴾"O Abraham, you have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.”﴿ (Al-Saffat: 104-105).

By Allah, we strongly believe in Allah’s good, and we await His heavenly call for you, even if we may not hear it with our ears: O you who are imprisoned for My sake, who are absent from your families and children for the sake of your religion and the good of your nation: (You have passed the test, so prepare yourselves for release, relief, and the joy. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.)

By Allah, we believe in nothing but goodness and mercy from Allah, and it is from His mercy that He does not increase His trials beyond the capacity of His servants. Our loved ones, the apple of our eyes, and the dearest ones, by Allah, we have never forgotten you, nor have we ever forgotten your images or names in our prostrations, as the covenant between us and the pledge of brotherhood that unites us prevents that.

As the poet says: Your memory is rooted in my heart even when I am at the peak of work and preoccupation, and it never leaves me. You are but a piece of my heart, and no matter how far the world separates us, you are always close to me.

We assure you, our beloved ones, that by the grace of Allah, we are getting better every day, and that Allah Almighty opens for us every day a new chapter of goodness, and we pray to Him, the Almighty, to complete and perfect it, noting that we announce some of it and conceal most of it. So, when Allah bestows imminent relief upon you, you will complete what was started and go ahead what you were imprisoned for and disappeared for. For the call to Allah is difficult to be ended, and fighting Him, the Almighty, will lead to disappearance, ruin, and end.

Our loved ones,

Eid al-Adha reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who entrusted his son and wife to his Lord after leaving them in an uncultivated valley. Allah made the place where his wife was running (between the two mountains of Al-Safa and Al-Marwah) a pillar of Hajj and made the place where his son was to be slaughtered a ritual of Hajj as well, and made their standing place (specifically known as ‘Abraham’s standing place’) blessed until the Day of Resurrection. So, entrust your children to Allah, and trust in the protection of your Lord, who says: ﴾ And the good land - its vegetation emerges by permission of its Lord; but that which is bad - nothing emerges except sparsely, with difficulty. Thus, do We diversify the signs for a people who are grateful.﴿  (Al-Aaraf: 58). You will never be more generous than your Lord, nor more merciful than Him, nor more guided to your children and spouses. Moreover, your brothers behind you feed your children before their own, and check on them as much as they can, just as they check on their own children, despite any shortcomings for which we apologize to Allah and work to make up for them and complete the duty.

Our beloved ones, rejoice on the occasion of the Eid despite the restrictions, and be happy with it despite the barriers and shackles, because the real prisoner is the one whose heart is imprisoned from his Lord; and the captive is the one who is captive to his desires, as Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said. May Allah hasten your relief, and may He Almighty return you to us and to your families soon, not later, and shortly, not far away, for He, glory be to Him, is the Custodian of that and is able to do it. May you stay well for many years to come!

Allah is the Greatest and to Allah all praises belong.
