The Ramses Telecommunications Building Fire, a Continuation of Disregard for People's Lives and Interests
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) has followed with deep sorrow and condemnation the tragic fire that broke out in the Ramses Telecommunications Building, known as the “Ramses Central”, in downtown Cairo, leaving a number of casualties and injuries among staff and citizens, and causing unfortunate human and material losses.
While we offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, we pray to Allah Almighty to have mercy on the deceased, grant a speedy recovery to the injured, and protect the Egyptian people from all harm.
Meanwhile, we emphasize the government's responsibility for people’s lives and property, and stress that he recurrence of such disasters exposes the falsity of government propaganda about developing digital infrastructure, the continued lack of professionalism, and the declining efficiency of public administration across the country, due to the absence of accountability, genuine oversight, and lack of responsibility toward citizens, their livelihoods, security, and safety.
