On the anniversary of its burning, Al-Aqsa Mosque is the headline of our identity, and supporting the resistance option is a must

Praise be to Allah who took His Servant Mohamad (peace be upon him) by night (in Isra) from al-Masjid al- to al-Aqsa Mosque, which Allah Almighty honored with the Isra (night journey) of the Prophet, and gathered prophets and messengers there, where he led them in prayer as imam, to announce his imamate and leadership to the worlds from this blessed land.

And blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohamed (PBUH), all his kinsfolk, companions, and followers till the Day of Judgment.

Now to the topic:

O Muslims.. today marks a painful anniversary for the nation: the day the treacherous Zionist hand set fire to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which holds a great place in the hearts of Muslims, where the fire burned up the Salah al-Din pulpit and part of the mosque's qibla, the first qibla of Muslims.

This painful anniversary comes as the enemy has set fire to all of Palestine, and even to the hearts of all believers throughout the Islamic world, through the genocidal war it is waging against the Gaza Strip.

As we remember this heinous event, we emphasize the significance of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the hearts and minds of Muslims as well as their faith. We also warn of the imminent danger threatening it, the danger of a spiteful, lurking enemy that unleashes its hordes on a daily basis to violate the sanctity of Bayt-ul Maqdis (Holy Jerusalem) and waits for an opportunity to demolish it.

The painful burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque was a resounding cry that awakened the conscience of the nation one day. As a result, the will of the Islamic countries came together to establish the Organization of Islamic Conference – now the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) – to serve as an umbrella for the defense of Jerusalem and Palestine.

As we recall that the establishment of the Organization of the IslamicCooperation (OIC) came as a declaration of Arab and Islamic solidarity on the holiest of issues, that is the Palestinian cause, we draw the attention of the OIC leaders, heads of member states, to the fact that, despite the Organization's five meetings held at various levels since October 2023, the death toll resulting from the aggression on Gaza has reached 62,000 martyrs, 9,000 missing persons, and 145,000 injured people. This is in addition to the fact that more than 120,000 settlers have desecrated the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque since then.

We wonder – and peoples have the right to wonder – about the effectiveness of the summit’s decisions, and about the normalization of relations with the occupying entity that some member states have adopted, and why Arabs and Muslims are not using available pressure cards – at least those political and economic ones – to curb the Zionist aggression!

On this anniversary, we call upon scholars, preachers, and educators to honor the value of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the hearts of Muslims, as Al-Aqsa is our first Qiblah and the third of the two Holy Mosques, to which Muslims travel.

We also call on writers, opinion leaders, and intellectuals to celebrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque in their forums and on their platforms, as Al-Aqsa is the headline of our identity, the symbol of our dignity, and the core of our struggle with the Zionist enemy.

Let us all talk about Jerusalem and remember that in the vicinity of Jerusalem there is a group from the nation of the Prophet Mohamad (PBUH), proud protectors, who defend it, sacrificing their lives and their dearest possessions for that, and that they today complain to Allah that people have let them down.

In this regard, we emphasize our full support for the Palestinian resistance, considering that supporting and backing them is a must and a duty upon us and upon the entire nation, both peoples and governments.

We address our call to the entire nation, in particular the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation, to renew their covenant with Allah with respect todefense of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine, to take serious action at all levels, and to mobilize all energies and potentials behind the resistance option, until Allah’s promise is fulfilled, that is: …and to enter the Mosque in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.﴿  (Al-Isra: 7).
