Akef Calls on Palestinian Factions to Stop Mutual Accusations, Detentions
Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Mohamed Mahdy Akef called on Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas to immediately stop exchanging accusations and detentions, and to work for a peaceful settlement of the crisis.
In his press release Sunday, Akef reaffirmed the importance of a unified Arab step towards the resolution of all the factors leading to this conflict, particularly the Gaza Strip bombings.
He said that the Muslim Brotherhood is observing the situation in Palestine with grief.
"The deteriorating conditions have led to further tensions, and consequently increased the gap between the two forces and made any possible reconciliation more difficult to attain", he said. These result will only serve the interests of the Israeli enemy, he concluded his statement.
