Recent Gas Agreement with “Israeli” Occupation Is an Insult to National Dignity and Threatens Egypt's National Security
While the Zionist enemy is perpetrating murder, starvation, and genocide against our people in Gaza, the gas deal with the occupying entity comes as a stab in the back of the nation, highlighting that the current Egyptian regime has completely lost its sense of national and Islamic affiliation and has deviated from achievement of Egypt’s strategic interests and protection of its national security.
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) stresses that at a time when the entity continues its crimes against the Palestinian people, this agreement represents an explicit commitment to supporting the occupation's economy, a direct reinforcement of the pillars of its aggression, and explicit participation in backing the enemy.
This is happening instead of putting pressure on the enemy economically, politically, and even militarily and security-wise to stop the genocidal war in Gaza and protect Egypt's eastern front.
Strategically, the Brotherhood believes that the size and timeframe of the deal create a state of reliance on the Zionist entity in provision of a strategic commodity with a geopolitical role, that is energy.
This places strategic industries and even political decisions at the mercy of Tel Aviv, which, in turn, will not hesitate to use this card as a weapon to pressure Egypt when necessary.
This means that, through this agreement, the regime has given the enemy leverage that would weaken the national position and contribute to further isolating the country at the regional level.
On the other hand, the MB believes this agreement is a blatant violation of the deeply held sentiments of the Egyptian people, who continue to view the Zionist entity as an occupying and usurping entity and as the primary enemy of Egypt and the Arab and Islamic peoples, despite all normalization attempts. The Brotherhood views any agreement that lacks respect for the will of the people to be completely devoid of legitimacy.
While we express our complete rejection of this agreement, we call on the relevant state institutions to confront it. We affirm our support for all free national voices, all political forces, professional and trade unions, and youth movements that have declared their rejection of this ominous deal.
We also call on everyone to re-align on the battle for change.
In conclusion, we call for immediate halting of this agreement; cancellation of all forms of commercial, security, political, and military cooperation with the occupation; and criminalization of any normalization with the "Israeli" enemy in all areas – before a day comes upon Egypt when its strategic industries are paralyzed, life comes to a standstill, and darkness descends upon the whole country, leaving the key to a solution in the hands of the Zionist entity alone.
Allah be behind our intention; And May Allah protect Egypt and the Egyptian people.
