Statement regarding the decision of the African Commission on Human Rights to stop the execution of 26 members and leaders of the Egyptian National Action

Within the framework of the unremitting efforts to alleviate the harm and suffering of the political detainees of the Egyptian people, who are exposed daily to unfair trials that lack the minimum judicial and humanitarian standards, and according to the lawsuit filed by the Muslim Brotherhood, commissioned by the Deputy leader and the acting General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, the African Commission on Human Rights issued an urgent order this morning to the Egyptian authorities to stop the execution of 26 members and leaders of the Egyptian national action.

While we welcome this step by the African Commission, and we appreciate the efforts of everyone who participated in issuing this order, we call on all international forums to do their part to stop these violations against the Egyptian political detainees. We reiterate our call to all honorable people of Egypt to work to stop the intransigence and the continuation of harming the detainees and their families.

May Allah save Egypt and protect the Egyptian people
