Ramadan, the Ummah’s Victories’ month

Ramadan, the Ummah’s Victories’ month

In the name of Allah, and praise him, peace and blessings be upon prophet Mohamed and those who have followed

Ramadan is still showering us with blessings, peace, and guiding light. One of which is the memory of victory in the holy month of Ramadan. A memory that is an insight and an affirmation in these cloudy times that is the month where we practice patience and perseverance, and Allah’s promise will be seen no doubts.  Allah has promised saying: “and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).” Ar-rum 47 and

Badr’s great battle’s memory is on the 17th of this holy month, the battle that Allah has portrayed as the “Discriminative Day”, where the righteous and the faulty were told apart. The believers then only aimed to seize Quraish’s convoy, where some of their stolen money was held. They missed the convoy and were forced into a battle.  It was a decisive brilliant victorious battle, one that showed that Allah’s will for his calling and religion, and what he destines, is better than any other plans set by the believers. “And (remember) when Allah promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr).” 7 “That He might cause the truth to triumph and bring falsehood to nothing, even though the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.) hate it.” 8 Al-Anfal. The battle ended is tremendous results, where the oppressive tyrants, that outnumbered the believers had been defeated and their leaders have perished shaking its image. Whilst the rising Islamic state had then established itself as an undeniable factor in the power balance of the time, and by that victory it had stabilized and deepened its roots.

The lesson was learnt, and the souls were at ease, for that is Allah’s calling and he is the one to set its pace.

It was a minority under siege, suffering from poverty and need, reasoned to fear by every datum. The Prophet described them in his prayers the night preceding the battle: “Oh Allah, they are barefooted, would you carry them! Oh Allah, they are naked, would you dress them! Oh Allah, they are hungry, would you feed them full!” Yet, neither poverty nor need stopped them from pursing the honor of their calling and glory of their faith and dignity for their people. They were aware that such quest is of a high price, and they were willing to pay.

They sought out prayers. And the prophet may peace be upon him, kept praying till Abu Bakr – his companion – pitted him saying: “Oh Prophet, you have appealed to Allah, and he shall deliver his promise!” and Allah has then said: “(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession." Al-Anfal, 9.

So, dearest sons and daughters, this is the path the honorable prophet and the patient believers have sought. It is yours to follow too, resist tyranny, political and social corruptness and don’t accept any undermining of your religion. It has been the will of the martyr president Morsi. It is time, for our believers to lead the way and fight back dictatorship and scientific delay and make our scarifies count by a place amongst the powerful; in a world that has no respect for the weak or the defeated.

“Do not give in to despair, despair is not a morale of Islam. Today’s realities are yesterday’s dreams and today’s dreams are tomorrow’s realities. There is plenty of time still, and amongst your believing people remains the elements of soundness of belief, despite all manifestations of corruption. The weak is never weak for life and the strength of the strong doesn’t last forever.” Al-Banna. “And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors” Al-Qasas 5

On the 20th of Ramadan, we are welcomed of with the breeze of the conquest of Mecca. After Quraish had broken the covenant with prophet Mohamed (PBH), he amongst 10 thousand fighters have stormed Mecca and they had to surrender, and he was the merciful conqueror known in History. “When comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Muhammad (Peace be upon him) against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah), 1 And you see that the people enter Allah's religion (Islam) in crowds, 2 So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask for His Forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and forgives. 3” An-Nasr The Meccan people then came to prophet Mohamed (PBH) in fear of their fate, as they have for long hurt him, and those who believed in him through torture, killing, displacement and confiscation of their money. He however asks them: “What would you think I shall be doing with you?” They reply: An honorable brother and nephew. He replies, in a discipline granted by Allah: “You are free to go!”

He then destroys the deviant idols of “ignorance” and raises a sign to guide humanity to the graces of At-tawhied: “La Ilah Ila Allah” -no God but Allah!

Yes, he did destroy them, 20 years after he started his calling, 20 years he used to solidify the doctrine -al-aqeuda, prepare the souls and found the leading state. After all of that, it was time to destroy the physical idols after they had already demolished in people’s consciousness and minds. Those minds that then believed in Allah and build his state and spared no effort in his support. And our guide Al-Hodeiby, may Allah’s mercy be upon him, once said to his brothers: “Found Islam’s state in your hearts, it shall be founded on your land”.

The lessons of Ramadan’s victories are always wonderful, so never stop learning, and honor your history: note its lesson and use its lights.

We conclude our prayers praise to Allah, the lord of all worlds, and may peace be upon our prophet Mohamed and those who followed.
