A press release on sentencing Sheikh Ghannouchi to a year in prison

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the political trial of Islamic thinker Sheikh Rashid Ghannouchi, Head of the Ennahda Party and former Speaker of the Tunisian Parliament, and sentencing him to one year in prison.

As the Brotherhood demands the release of Sheikh Ghannouchi and all political detainees, and unleashing public freedoms, it also calls for administration of political competition in accordance with democratic methods, and viewing the society forces, parties and representatives, as a national wealth that contributes to building strong states.
