Muslim Brotherhood Mourns Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi

﴾Among the believers are men who are true to the covenant with Allah: so of them is he who accomplished his vow, and of them is he who yet awaits its fulfillment, and they have not altered in the least.. ﴿( Al-Ahzab: 23)

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) extends its sincere condolences to the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, on the demise of late Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, the Deputy Amir of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (may Allah's mercy be upon him). Sheikh ul Hadith Allama Delwar Hossain Sayeedi passed away after a life full of giving and Dawah to Allah. The deceased, may Allah bestow His mercy upon him, authored about fifty-four books, including interpretation of the Holy Quran in four volumes. He also held several positions, including the following:

- He served as Member of the Parliament of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2008.
- He served as member of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Zakat Council.
- He presided over the Executive Council of the International Islamic University in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
- He served as member of the Board of Trustees of the International Islamic University in Chittagong.
- He served as Vice Chairperson of the Sharia Board of the Islamic Bank of Bangladesh.
- He served as advisor to the Muslim World League, the Bangladesh branch.
- He served as the key advisor to the Islamic College in London.
- He founded the New York Islamic School in the United States.
- He served as Chairperson of the Bangladesh Teachers Council.

We ask Allah Almighty to accept his jihad, his effort, and all his action, and to upgrade his position in Illiyeen (the highest place ever in Paradise), with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favour, of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous; and excellent are those as companions.

The Muslim Brotherhood extends its sincere condolences to his brethren, his family, his honourable children, and his relatives. We pray to Allah Almighty to shower him with His mercy and grant them all forbearance and solace.

﴾… but give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. ﴿(Al-Baqarah: 155-156)
