Muslim Brotherhood Statement on Operation Al-Aqsa Flood
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) blesses the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood that the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades have launched today, October 7, 2023, against the occupation elements in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip, with its target declared to be in defence of Al-Aqsa Mosque and for the liberation of Palestinian captives.
It is to be mentioned that the Brotherhood, along with the whole Islamic world, have, over the past months, been following with so much pain, the escalating attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the destination of Prophet Mohamed's Israa, nocturnal journey, the first of the two Qiblahs (prayers direction) and the third of the two Holy Mosques (Makkah and Al-Madina Holy Mosques); and the systematic violations of Islamic sanctities, in violation of divine laws, international law, and UN resolutions.
The Israeli occupation forces in Jerusalem allow Jewish groups -allegedly extremist- to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, with the support and participation of ministers in the Israeli government. The arrests and abuse of Palestinian Mourabitoun (peaceful, civic Muslim worshippers who maintain an active religious presence inside Al-Aqsa Mosque) never stop, and the Israeli police’s abuse of the dignity of the Mourabitat, the women defending Al-Aqsa Mosque, continues unchecked, with no deterrence. Killings of Palestinians have also escalated on several levels.
All this is happening in the midst of suspicious international silence, and without any effective political or legal action to stop such crimes. However, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood came as a decisive response to thwart the (Israeli) plan to impose sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque, to deter any possible military action against the Gaza Strip, to stop the Israeli prevarication on the issue of Palestinian captives, and in response to the groans of captives in the occupation prisons.
Also, the popular reactions in the Islamic world - today - send a message to the effect that the Palestinian resistance has come to represent the conscience of the Islamic world, and respond to their hopes, as they look forward to the liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and visiting it, within free Palestine. Therefore, we call on Muslims across the world to demonstrate and show strong popular interaction in support of the Palestinian people and their fair cause.
To conclude, the Muslim Brotherhood blesses the efforts of the Palestinian people and the resistance factions, particularly their qualitative steps against the Zionist occupier. The MB emphasizes the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation and defend the territories and sanctities. The Brotherhood also stresses that “No one will remain strong and that life shifts and changes. The strong will not remain strong, and the weak will not remain weak." This is the story of history. The norm of change remains as long as life lasts, and tomorrow is quite near.
﴾Truly, Allah defends those who believe. Verily! Allah likes not any that is a traitor to faith, or show ingratitude. Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory.﴿ (Al-Hajj: 38-39)
