MB Denounces the Sentence Against Dr Moncef Marzouki

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the sentence in absentia against Dr Moncef Marzouki, the former President of the Republic of Tunisia, on charges of assaulting the state security.

The MB also condemns the continued policies of imposition of restrictions on national political figures, considering the sentence against Marzouki a blatant violation of freedom of opinion and expression.

The Brotherhood calls for respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms and consolidating the rule of law in Tunisia. The MB also calls for neutralization of the legal means in settlement of political scores.
