Al-Aqsa Mosque, Symbol of Unity of Palestine and Muslim Nation

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the decision made by the occupation’s Prime Minister Netanyahu to restrict the access to Al-Aqsa Mosque by Palestinians from the occupied interior during the blessed month of Ramadan, considering it a challenge to and an infringement on the freedom of worship in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which threatens explosion of the situation in the occupied Jerusalem.

The MB views Netanyahu’s decision in the context of pursuit to open new fronts after his failure to achieve the military goals of the aggression against Gaza, with the aim of keeping the state of war ongoing and thus escaping accountability.

The Brotherhood stresses that this decision by Netanyahu confirms the threats that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed to, which Hamas had announced as part of the reasons for launching Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. This requires unity of Palestinian action on all political, security and military fronts, and rallying around a national resistance project that brings together the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the occupied Jerusalem, and be expressive of the Palestinian people’s hope to liberate the land and the holy sites.

In fact, the Israeli aggression targets Palestine from the sea to the river, as well as every Palestinian anywhere. It also targets Al-Aqsa Mosque, as has been confirmed by the occupation’s history of killing, displacement, destruction, and burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque; the genocidal war that is still raging against the people of Gaza; and the assassinations and arrests here and there; in addition to the global support for the occupation, and the expansion of the circle of starvation and siege to include refugees in the West Bank, Lebanon, and Jordan alongside the Gaza Strip.

The MB holds the Arab and Muslim rulers responsible for any infringement of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and calls on Arab and Muslim countries to use all their diplomatic, political and legal tools, in effort to annul all decisions restricting the freedom of prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and warn against practicing any Jewish rituals in the mosque, out of believing in freedom of belief and immunity of places of worship, in accordance with heavenly laws, as well as international laws and norms.

The Muslim Brotherhood also calls on the masses of the Arab and Muslim nation to rise up once again to support the Ribat of our brothers in Palestine in general and in the occupied Jerusalem in particular, in defence of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as this is the least effort that can be made, to confirm that the cause of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa is the pulse of the nation and the headline of its mobility.

﴾… And Allah will surely support those who support Him (His cause). Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.﴿ (Al-Hajj: 40)
