Sheikh Mujahid Ahmed Yassin’s blood is tantamount to fuel for Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

Amidst the victorious Al-Aqsa Flood battle, today, the twenty-second of March, marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Jihad and resistance Imam and founder of the Islamic Resistance Movement Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the leader whose name has shined, and whose remembrance has been exalted based on the great legacy that he left behind and the tremendous impact he made in Palestine, and indeed in the entire Muslim nation, to the point that he has become one of the nation’s most prominent figures and a shining page in the contemporary history of Palestine.

In fact, Palestine was on a date with this remarkable personality amid difficult, miserable circumstances, and at a major historical turning point that the Palestinian cause went through in the 1980s following the neutralization of Egyptian and Arab support via signing a peace treaty with the occupying enemy in 1979, and in the wake of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, resulting in the expulsion of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) resistance forces therefrom and the elimination of its leading figures in 1982. However, at a time when the world thought that the Palestine cause was over, Sheikh Yassin emerged, and the Hamas movement was founded amid these extremely difficult circumstances.

The decline in interest in the Palestinian cause and the elimination of resistance at the time created a negative atmosphere that encouraged acceptance of partial solutions. As a result, the priority of “resistance” declined in the Palestinian national dictionary, where it was replaced by “negotiations”. The objectives of the Palestinian national movement were also dwarfed from “liberation” to “independence”, then from “statehood” to “authority”. At such time, Sheikh Yassin and his blessed movement came to correct the course and return the cause of the liberation of Palestine to its intellectual and political constants and national goals, ignoring the shadow of despair that was cast over the cause by those defeats.

Sheikh Yassin’s academic and religious set-up, his experience and early awareness of the nature of the conflict, and his mindful reading of the Palestinian, Arab and international reality – all this contributed to his clear vision of the solution. He engaged in the preparation and the upbringing of a resistant generation that possesses all spiritual, cultural and intellectual qualifications; to be able to fight the battle. The Sheikh also worked to strengthen the bonds of social cohesion among the Palestinian people and was keen to gain external sympathy to provide support for the resistance.

Today, the cultivation of the Martyr Mujahid Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and his heroic men are leading the liberation battle against the Israeli enemy and the forces of global arrogance behind it. They are doing a good job in defending their religion, sanctities, land, and honour. Here is the battle of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, burying the prestige of the “Invincible Army” in the dirt, bringing its leaders to international trial, rewriting the equations of conflict in the region, and changing world public opinion towards the Palestine liberation cause.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin restored the Palestinian cause to its origins since its early beginning, live in the souls of the people of Palestine and the Muslim nation, following in the footsteps of Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam and Martyr Imam Hassan al-Banna. And here are the children of Sheikh Yassin, and along with them all the resistance factions, reviving hope that the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine will soon be liberated, and sacrificing their souls and blood, as Sheikh Yassin had sacrificed his life for this goal. And here is the heroic, steadfast and struggling Palestinian people, lining up united behind the vanguards of liberation and redemption, willingly and patiently accepting payment of the price.

May Allah have mercy on Sheikh Mujahid Ahmed Yassin and may He be pleased with him and accept him among the martyrs and the righteous. And may Allah also be pleased with those who followed in his footsteps and sought to liberate Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Allah Almighty says:}Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration. {(Al-Ahzab: 23)
