Official statements of the Muslim Brotherhood

The “Madleen” vessel’s message has been received but the official global position falls short of the tragedy

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the new Zionist crime of kidnapping the international activists participating in the "Madleen" vessel, one of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) ships. Those activists were on their way to break the blockade imposed on Gaza, carrying a humanitarian message and a symbolic shipment of aid, defying the occupation's terrorism and brutality.

However, the occupation authorities intercepted the ship in international waters and forcibly detained its crew, in flagrant violation of the international law and in clear defiance of the free voices that have long called for lifting the blockade and halting the massacres against civilians in Gaza.

The MB commends the heroic stance taken by participants of various nationalities and backgrounds, including human rights activists, members of parliament (MPs), and freelance journalists, who have gained renewed international sympathy in favour of the Palestinian cause and highlighted the worsening humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip, where killing, starvation, and mass isolation have continued for over 17 years.

As we express our full solidarity with the detainees, we hold the Zionist occupation fully responsible for their safety. We demand their immediate and unconditional release, and we call on human rights organizations and the United Nations to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities regarding this violation.

We also call on the international community, particularly the European Union and major powers, to take a more decisive stance against the occupation, starting with imposition of direct sanctions on the Zionist entity, halting arms exports, and political support, as well as activation of diplomatic pressure tools to halt the ‘Israeli’ brutal aggression and open urgent humanitarian corridors to allow the entry of aid into Gazawithout any restrictions.

In fact, the world's silence on these violations does not absolve it of responsibility, and continuing to turn a blind eye on them encourages the occupation to be persistent in its crimes. This will never silence the living conscience of humanity, which is championing Palestinian rights day after day.

Allah is the Greatest and to Allah all praises belong.
