We congratulate Alaa Abdel Fattah on his release and demand the release of all detainees
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) congratulates the political activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and his family on regaining his right to freedom, after spending nearly eleven years in detention, with unfair charges that the Egyptian authorities have been directing at its opponents and opinion makers.
The Brotherhood calls for making the release of Alaa Abdel Fattah abeginning for the respect for human rights by the Egyptian regime, as scoresof thousands of innocent people remain in prison, living under conditions of oppression and torture and deprived of the most basic rights guaranteed by law, in addition to being denied their freedom.
On this occasion, we renew our full support for the detainees’ hunger strike in Badr 3 Prison and emphasize our support for their families until they obtain their legitimate rights.
