The Acting MB General Guide’s Message, Marking the Advent of Ramadan

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“The month of Ramadhan is that in which the Qur'an was revealed, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion” (AL-Baqarah: 185)

Praise be to Allah and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon His Messenger:

On the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan; the month of obedience, mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance from Hellfire; the month of victory and conquest; it pleases me to extend my warmest congratulations to Muslims across the world that Allah has enabled us to witness this holy month; and I  pray to Allah Almighty with the utmost sincerity that we all be among those who are worthy of His forgiveness and mercy.

I’d like to extend my first heartfelt message to every mother and every wife who misses her son or her husband, and may at sunset check on him, but never finds him; as he either died a martyr, or was arrested for the sake of Allah, seeking the reward from Him.

With my heart aching, I pray to Allah Almighty to bestow patience on those who lost their beloved ones and those whose beloved ones are behind bars, and to grant detainees an imminent release from prison, for He, only, who bestows this; and He, alone, is able to bring this to pass.

My second message is to detainees, the ‘crowns of our heads’, those heroes who stay steadfast behind bars, paying the price of freedom and the call to Allah by sacrificing their lives, for no fault they had committed except for the fact that they only believed in Allah alone, and wanted freedom, elevation and prosperity for their homeland.

To those I send my heartfelt greetings on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood everywhere.

I single out my greetings to His Eminence the Muslim Brotherhood General Guide Dr. Mohamed Badie, and renew my allegiance to him, praying to the Allah Almighty to help me fulfill the responsibility that my brothers have assigned me in this critical situation.

My third message is to extended to the masses of the Muslim Brotherhood who have been divided by the ordeal (they are suffering) and exhausted by the discord (they are experiencing), appealing to them to seize the opportunity of this holy month to pray to Allah Almighty with sincere hearts, and ask Him to lift the affliction we are experiencing; taking into mind that the first steps to unity are willingness and repentance.

“And He brought together their hearts. Had you spent all the riches in the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together; but Allah brought them together. Indeed, He is Exalted in Might and Wise.” (Al-Anfal – 63)

And hold fast, all together, unto the bond with Allah, so that differences among you could be settled, and the discord among you could vanish away, and we could all unite together on our path to Allah.

And be quite sure that our hearts are open to every advice, and our hands are extended to every help, and that the time of dispensing with ‘brothers’ has come to a definitive end. You are (part of )our capital, which is little, and unification of your efforts means glory to Islam and defeat to the devil.

O Brotherhood, the problem is much greater than a mere dispute over a regulation or a vision. The vacancy resulting from your absence and enforced absence has incurred regression in the nation's values, religion, and identity, and therefore you must know well your value and your status, and stay aware of your heavy responsibility, as the world needs your efforts so much. This is the destiny of those chosen by Allah to deliver His message. “Allah is most knowing of where He places His message” (Al-Anaam – 124)

My fourth message is extended to all those active in serving Islam and the call to Allah, and to those who love goodness and are keen to boost and elevate their homeland, including all institutions, movements, and organizations, regardless of their different political and ideological spectra – to all of you I extend  my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

We are pleased to let you know that our hands are extended to you for joint action, for the good of our people and homeland.

“And cooperate with one another in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And revere Allah; indeed, Allah is strict in penalty.” (Al-Maidah – 2)

In conclusion, I sincerely pray to Allah Almighty to grant detainees a speedy release, and to grant mercy and good acceptance to the Muslim Brotherhood and all Muslims.

I also pray to Allah, may glory be to Him, to lift the affliction off the nation in every place where His religion is being fought and His righteous servants are persecuted.

And let everyone know that Allah does not abandon His faithful servants, but affliction and ‘repelling’ (rivalry and confrontation between people) are ongoing norms until the Day of Resurrection.

Allah Almighty says:

“And Allah will surely support those who support His cause. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might”. (Al-Hajj – 40)

Allah Is the Greatest, and May Praise Be to Allah
