The Al-Aqsa Flood is Still the Event and Palestine is the Cause
After three trial issues of the new phase of Al-Da'wa magazine, where we assessed both the editorial and technical aspects of publishing in Arabic and English, the first official issue was released. This marks the beginning of a new direction in the media efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood press in Egypt has consistently focused not only on local issues but also on global perspectives related to the nation's concerns. Issues affecting the Islamic world were a prominent feature, often expanded upon through intellectual, jurisprudential, and advocacy discussions, alongside coverage of political matters and conflicts.
In today's world of open skies and advancements in knowledge and communication, both the methods and media have transformed, along with the public's interests. The landscape of media has evolved significantly, especially in the wake of the Arab Spring revolutions and the increasing influence of regional and international factors on local affairs. Additionally, the ongoing conflict in Gaza has heightened global interest in the issue of Palestine. As a result, our focus has expanded beyond local concerns to encompass broader issues.
The conflict surrounding Islam and identity has intensified, with both regional and international organizations now playing a role in managing it. The battles for influence and geopolitical impact have become more apparent than ever before. Our region, at the heart of the Islamic world, is experiencing political and geographical restructuring. It is crucial for the general public to have access to knowledge that aligns with these developments.
The first issue will be published in Rabi' al-Awwal 1446, October 2024, exactly one year after the successful Al-Aqsa Flood operation and its aftermath. This issue will prominently feature this significant event across most sections of the magazine. The Al-Aqsa Flood remains the pivotal topic, and Palestine continues to be the central issue, as the Arab and Islamic communities seek to understand the surrounding developments.
In this issue, we explore the Muslim Brotherhood's official positions and directives concerning Palestine, as well as their activities and events. We also include political analyses, opinion articles, and assessments that anticipate the future of the conflict. Additionally, we highlight artistic and cultural expressions through painting, poetry, and literature.
The first issue includes a biography of Sheikh Al-Qaradawi in honor of the second anniversary of his death, as well as an academic and intellectual discussion on the frameworks for developing religious discourse. We hope that our readers find the magazine both informative and engaging.
