Official statements of the Muslim Brotherhood

Even if it may look voluntary, displacement of the Gaza population is involvement in the crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the recent statements released by the US President Donald Trump regarding displacement of the people of Gaza to Egypt and Jordan. In this regard, the MB views giving consent to displacement as involvement in the crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by the occupation against the Palestinian strip, for which its leaders have been convicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

In fact, displacement of Palestinians is complementary to destruction, killing, starvation, and demolition of facilities and infrastructure, to force the indigenous people to abandon their land. Therefore, the Brotherhood views any migration / eviction after the people (of Gaza) have lost means of living as forced migration / displacement, even if it may look voluntary.

The  MB distances everyone from involvement in this crime; and it calls for upholding the position declared during the war on Gaza, of rejection of displacement. The Brotherhood stresses that Trump’s statements are nothing but intervention in the affairs of sovereign states, and that the Palestinian people, along with all Palestinian national forces, reject displacement whatever the cost.

The Brotherhood stresses that the duty of the time is working to rebuild Gaza and prepare the Strip for restoring life once again, and not to evade responsibility by raising issues that had failed during the war. In fact, the United States itself must bear the consequences of its involvement and excessive support for the Nazi occupation forces against the Strip.

The MB calls on the international community, particularly the Arab countries, primarily Egypt, Jordan, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Islamic countries, to expedite the launch of reconstruction projects in Gaza.
