The Gas Agreement .. A Reward for the Occupation and a Geopolitical Threat to Egypt under Availability of Alternatives
Regarding the Egyptian-Israeli gas agreement, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) reaffirms its principled and unwavering stance, which is aligned with the rules of international law and the inalienable economic rights of the owners of the land and their sovereign rights. The MB views contracting to purchase gas stolen by the occupying enemy as a plundering of the Palestinian natural resources, a clear violation of international law, and an implicit recognition of the legitimacy of the usurping entity.
From a national perspective, the Brotherhood rejects the gas agreement with “Israel”, due to the serious political and strategic risks it entails, as it grants the occupation entity a geopolitical advantage that enables it to influence Egypt’s energy security and turns it into a tool for political pressure and blackmail, which affects national sovereignty and threatens Egyptian national security. Moreover, it (the agreement) contributes to financing the coffers of the Israeli entity and its war machine, which is waging a war of aggression against several Arab countries.
