Accusing MB of violence against the state or its apparatuses, and linking this to individuals and groups that have broken away from it is a conspiracy for which Egyptian regime should be held accountable

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) is subjected from time to time to repeated attempts by its adversaries to label it "violent" – contrary to reality – and to use this false accusation as a pretext to justify repressing it and confiscating its right to operate in public action, in systematic attempts to remove it from the sphere of Da’wa, politics, and social work, at the local level. At the international level, the Muslim Brotherhood's vision of liberating the Islamic world from all foreign control poses a formidable obstacle to projects of occupation, normalization (with the Israeli enemy) and dependency. In doing so, the Brotherhood is siding with the will of the peoples for freedom and independence in accordance with international law and divine laws, which makes designating it as a “terrorist”  organization a goal for (the United States and “Israel”), to put it plainly.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an authentic social movement, rooted in its communities, practicing the Da’wa (call) to the way of Allah Almighty with wisdom and good instruction, carrying out its political action in accordance with the democratic rules, and organizing its community work based on constitutional and legal rules.

In all of this, it adopts a comprehensive, moderate understanding of Islam that rejects violence, viewing bloodshed at political action as a crime, and disowning those who do so and considers them not to belong to it at all. The MB has a long and distinguished history in the fields of Da’wa, education, reform, social work, union work, and national work, where it has consistently demonstrated through its practices commitment to the interests of the people, expressing their hopes, and siding with the causes of the nation and the people.

Historically, the MB, like any national movement, distinguished between the tools and methods of political and social action on the one hand, and the pursuit of liberating homelands from the occupier's authority on the other. Its history is replete with pages of heroism and honor in resisting the Zionist gangs on the land of Palestine and resistance against the British occupation, along with the patriotic resistance fighters and the Egyptian army, until the British withdrawal from Egypt was achieved. Before and after that date, the Brotherhood has never adopted violence as a means of change since it was founded by Imam Hassan Al-Banna – may Allah have mercy on him – until this day.

Therefore, we affirm that the accusations leveled by the Egyptian regime’s security services and its media apparatus against the MB – that it has changed its peaceful, reformist approach to violence, linking it to individuals or movements that have broken away from it, or alleging that it has a military arm – are all pure lies and fabrications, unsupported by any evidence or proof. The consistent policy of the Muslim Brotherhood, since its inception, has been to reject violence as a means of change, and to condemn it in all who practice it, whether individuals or groups.

The Brotherhood also affirms that it had reached power in Egypt through democratic means, and through elections that the world witnessed as fair and equal, and that those who usurped power after 2013 are – in fact – those who reached it through the practice of political violence, and the use of the machinery of killing, detention, exclusion, and removal of their political opponents. Therefore, accusing the MB of violence is going in the wrong direction, an attempt to evade responsibility, and to escape accountability before Allah, the people, and history.

However, the Muslim Brotherhood will, with Allah’s support, remain a shield for the nation, backing its security and stability, and a partner in its development, despite the plots and conspiracies it is subjected to.

Allah is the greatest, and praise be to Allah,

Muslim Brotherhood – Egypt
