Media Clarification on the MB Statement Regarding Accusations of Violence (4/4/2026)

With reference to the Muslim Brotherhood's statement issued yesterday (4 April 2026), the MB confirms the following:
The statement was primarily issued in response to systematic campaigns (claiming existence of an armed wing for the Muslim Brotherhood) waged by Zionist pressure groups funded by the United Arab Emirates and supporting the Zionist vision of linking the MB to “terrorism”, in order to urge issuance of designation decisions against the Muslim Brotherhood as a “terrorist” organization.

The statement has no connection whatsoever to local events or people; and the accusations leveled by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior and supported by drama, press, and media have been ongoing for thirteen years, to the point that such false claims have become commonplace, even a source of ridicule, and do not even warrant a response. It is worth noting that the MB did not respond to Ramadan drama series that specialize in falsifying the Brotherhood’s history and is content with the public's response to the claims contained therein.

The MB has consistently supported every oppressed person targeted by the Egyptian security services and condemns crimes of kidnapping, enforced disappearance, and confessions obtained under torture, such as those perpetrated by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in its recent televised statement, in which it leveled accusations of “terrorism” to divert the people's attention from the crises that have engulfed Egyptians and to justify the repression of opponents.

The MB's related statement reaffirms its unwavering stance against violence, from its inception to the present day. However, it also explicitly holds the Egyptian regime responsible for the violence, by using lethal force for change in the aftermath of 2013.
In conclusion, the MB affirms its commitment to national unity and the opposition forces, as it is Egypt's hope for change. It urges everyone to put things in context, in support of rapprochement, understanding, and unity, and not to give an opportunity to those on the prowl to divide the national ranks.

May Allah Almighty protect you, and may He preserve Egypt free and independent for its people and grant relief to all our prisoners and detainees.
