MB: We Rejoice in Victory Alongside Our Peoples,  But We Never Forget Our Causes.. Thank You, Hossam

I’d like to congratulate the Egyptian National Football Team on their well-deserved victory over Australia and their qualification for the World Cup’s Round of 16; a victory that has delighted millions of Egyptians and Arabs everywhere. I’d like also to extend my greetings and appreciation to the Egyptian football team – both players and administration – ​​for their outstanding performance that has brought honor to Egypt. 

In fact, I view the gesture made by Captain Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian National Football Team, by raising the flag of Palestine and dedicating the victory of the match to its people in this international forum, which the peoples of the world follow more than they follow the political forums themselves, as if it was a blessing from Allah Almighty. Such a gesture gives the football game a humanitarian value and makes it a means for people to communicate and support their issues.

The patient and steadfast Palestinian people, who are defending their land, their honor, and the holy sites of the nation, are in dire need of the people's support in the face of the forces of aggression lurking in our region. How great it would be if such occasions were an opportunity for the voice of the peoples to reach the world, declaring "Free Palestine" to ring in the ears of the tyrants who support genocide.

We extend our thanks to the "Team of  Sajideen" (prostrators) and special thanks to Captain Hossam Hassan for his noble, humane stance – one that reflects the conscience of every Egyptian, and the place Palestine holds in the hearts of the Egyptian people. This noble gesture also affirms that engaging in sports never distracts us from the causes of the nation, nor does it cause us to lose our empathy for the oppressed.
