On the Anniversary of the October Victory, the Occupation Renews Its Threats against Egypt
In coincidence with the anniversary of the glorious October victory, the occupation’s extremist Finance Minister, the internationally ostracize war criminal, Bezalel Smotrich, has come out threatening to re-occupy Sinai once again, thereby confirming what we already know: that the entity’s view of Egypt and the whole region is governed by the "October Complex" not by the “Camp David Accord” promises.
The occupation leaders' view of Egypt and the region never transcended the logic of expansion and hegemony, nor the streak of military arrogance that was shattered once before – on the day of the crossing (of the Bar-Lev Line) into Sinai, on 6 October 1973; then, was shattered once again during the crossing of the 7 October 2023 (Al-Aqsa Flood).
This deliberate coincidence reminds us all that the spirit of October must not remain merely a story to be recounted; rather, it must be transformed into an enduring creed and a perpetual duty.
Just as the liberation of the land was the imperative of the hour in the past, today’s imperative is to defend the Egyptian national security and the overall regional stability against Israeli aggression – an aggression that relies on force and arrogance, disregards national borders and the rights of peoples, and clings stubbornly to the illusion of "Greater Israel."
Israel’s ongoing aggression in occupied Palestine, southern Lebanon, and Syria – alongside its declared threats against Egypt and other Arab nations – demands that our military preparations be comprehensive and integrated. It requires our home front to rid itself of policies and practices that undermine its cohesion and integrity; and necessitates robust, effective regional and international partnerships.
Such measures are essential to ensure our ability to safeguard our security, borders, and supreme national interests within a turbulent world that recognizes only power and blatantly sides with the usurping occupation entity.
