On its foundation anniversary, we reiterate our support for the Islamic Resistance Movement-Hamas
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The anniversary of the foundation of Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas, (14 December 1987) comes amidst the victorious Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and its repercussions, which shook the Zionist entity on October Seventh, to emphasize that the Movement is on the path it chose for itself on the early day of its foundation, as a national liberation movement struggling against foreign occupation.
Since the day of its foundation, Hamas has sought to revive the Palestinian cause and upbring a generation that believes in freedom, the right to sovereignty over their land and resistance to the occupation, as the ‘Children of Stones’ uprising emerged (in late 1987), alerting the world to the Palestinian right after the early wave of normalization, dispelling fear, and instilling the spirit of redemption in the generations of liberation. Then, Hamas founded the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades in 1992, which undertakes resistance to the occupation up to this day.
The Movement then became socially rooted among its own people through involvement in political action and achievement of victory in the legislative elections (in 2006), as it acquired a new dimension that has increased the Palestinian people’s rallying around it. The great sacrifices exerted by the Movement, including sacrificing the lives of its leaders: Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Dr Abdel Aziz Al-Rantisi, Salah Shehade, Said Siam, Emad Akel, Yehya Ayyash, Ahmed Al-Jaabari, and tens, even hundreds, others of its leaders and members who have been martyred, proves its devotion to the cause of liberation, and the sincerity of its approach.
In the ongoing war on Gaza today, the relationship between Hamas and the people is going through the most difficult test since its foundation, due to the victims of the brutal aggression, but the faith, resilience and trust of the Palestinian people in the resistance has never been shaken, so they have adhered to its choice, rejected displacement, and only mentioned the resistance well, despite the enormity of the sacrifices, where their sentiment and statement assert that: ‘We are all at the sacrifice of Al-Aqsa and Palestine’, which is a victory above the glorious October victory.
The Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas has changed the world's view of the Palestinian cause, which earned it unprecedented support, as it has provided a high-end model in peace and war, and demonstrated its political competence in managing international relations. Therefore, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) views Hamas as a national liberation movement that derives its legitimacy from the legitimate goal for which it works, and from the Palestinian people’s rallying around it. In this regard, the Brotherhood calls on parliaments of the world, as representatives of their peoples, to take positive positions towards viewing Hamas as a national liberation movement that seeks to liberate its country, based on the international law and international legitimacy resolutions. The MB also calls on governments not to succumb to the dictates of the countries that support the Zionist entity.
Today, despite the war conditions, the Muslim Brotherhood hails the Palestinian people and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on the thirty-sixth anniversary of its foundation. Also, the Brotherhood emphasizes its support for Hamas, doing everything it can in this regard. The MB stresses that Hamas and all the Palestinian resistance factions have become the hope of every Palestinian to liberate Palestine, indeed the hope of every Muslim to liberate Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that they would be freed from that entity which has been usurping our sanctities and challenging the conscience of humanity. The Brotherhood stresses that resistance is the path to liberation, and that victory will be for the believing group, Allah willing, whatever its number and equipment are small. ﴾ … But those who knew with certainty that they were to meet Allah, said: "How often a small group overcame a mighty host by Allah's Leave?" And Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones).﴿ (Al-Baqara: 249).
