MB: We condemn the aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the right to worship and demand deterrent procedures against the enemy

The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) condemns the escalating actions taken by the Zionist occupation against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly the closure of the mosque and preventing worshippers from performing their prayers in it during the holy month of Ramadan, which is a blatant attack on the freedom of worship and a flagrant violation of the sanctity and status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque comes as part of multi-dimensional aggressive practices on several fronts at the same time, which once again reveals the nature of the Zionist project towards the Islamic nation, its people, its potentials and its holy sites, and also exposes its expansionist goals which have become declared.

The MB stresses that preventing worship at the Al-Aqsa Mosque by force is a clear affront to the Islamic nation's sentiments. It further states that the attempt to alter the religious and historical identity of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a core objective of the Zionist project, which cannot be tolerated.

The Brotherhood calls on Arab and Islamic countries and governments to confront the Zionist enemy, which is exploiting the state of Arab and Islamic silence on its crimes, to extend its aggression to more than one arena without any deterrence, which necessitates taking bold positions that are required by the current stage and imposed by the current political and security situation created by the Zionist entity in the region.

In fact, this should come not through issuance of statements of condemnation, but by severing diplomatic, political, economic and security ties with the occupation in order to isolate this usurping cancerous entity.

Therefore, the MB calls on Arab and Islamic countries to take practical steps to stop these crimes, protect Islamic holy sites, and spread security and peace to the countries of the region.

While we warn of the danger of the continuation of these attacks and the serious repercussions they may have on Jerusalem and Palestine, we call on all countries to exert pressure to open the Al-Aqsa Mosque for worship and I'tikaf (seclusion in a mosque for worship away from worldly affairs).

We also warn that remaining silent about the aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine is about to transfer or has almost transferred the power struggle outside of them.

May Allah preserve the Islamic countries safe and restore the Islamic nation's unity and sovereignty.

Allah is the greatest, and praise be to Allah,

Muslim Brotherhood - Egypt
